Curriculum and Syllabus of Bachelor of Education (B. Ed)
Preamble:
International University of Bangladesh is the first and only university that has emerged with dual mode of teaching in the field of higher education in Bangladesh. The on-campus and distance mode of teaching and learning connote the total program of education. Introduction of Bed program through Distance mode in the Asian University of Bangladesh is a milestone in the field of education in Bangladesh.
Aims and Objectives:
The aims and objectives of the B Ed program are to provide students with-
(a) Sound knowledge, skills and modern techniques and methods in teaching and training.
(b) Knowledge of selected academic subjects from Arts, Social Science, Commerce and Science disciplines with special emphasis on languages and related communication skills.
(c) Knowledge on the fundamental courses on education for developing professional competences based on in-depth knowledge relevant skills and values along with ethical and cultural orientation.
(d) Opportunities for attachment program with educational institutions for acquiring practical experiences for performing professional responsibilities in actual situation.
(e) Sound background required for further professional course of study on education leading to specialization in different areas of the education sector.
Entry Requirement:
The entry requirement for Bed program is at least a Bachelor’s degree.
Admission:
Admission into the Bed program is on a competitive basis. Candidates are selected for admission on the basis of past academic records, job experience, written tests, and or a viva examination.

- Evaluation System:
Evaluation of each course will be done on the basis of:
(a) mid-term Examination, (b) Final Examination, (c) Assignment/Term Papers/Quizzes, (d) Student Teaching Supervision, (e) Viva-Voce and (f) Comprehensive Examination.
Academic Probation:
A student whose CGPA is below 2.00 but not less than1.70 will be placed on academic probation during the following semester. A student on academic probation may be restricted in the number or type of course for which he/she is permitted to register during the probationary period.

9. Duration and Semester-wise Distribution of Courses:
The duration of the Bed program is 16 months. It is divided into four equal semesters. Each semester is of four months duration. The semester wise detailed distribution of courses is given below:
